If ever there was a feelgood story to come out of the pandemic, it would be the one of Jerome Chapman; an up-and-coming South African artist. Jerome renewed his love of graphite pencil drawing during Covid 2020 and hasn’t looked back since.
Jerome is a born and bred Capetonian, having lived in Mitchells Plain for most of his life. He excelled in Fine Art at school yet decided to study Graphic Design at Cape Technicon but soon realized that his true love lies with graphite pencil drawing.
With his initial focus on portraits, Jerome pivoted to wild life; paying particular attention to the finer details through his various self-taught techniques. He continues to challenge himself with every new drawing, and is not afraid to take on any subject.
He has also been commissioned for various clients around the world, and his selection of masterpieces drawn in his spare time have been bought as fast as he can draw them! This picture was drawn specifically for the Zip Zap Auction.
